Anxiety Therapy in Bentonville, AR

If your mind won't slow down, your body feels on edge, or you're tired of holding it all together, therapy can help. I'm Stephanie McGrath, LAC, and I offer practical therapeutic tools for anxiety in Bentonville, Arkansas, and by telehealth across all of Arkansas.

How anxiety shows up

Anxiety isn't always panic. It can look like overthinking, trouble sleeping, irritability, perfectionism, tight shoulders (one client called it "shrimping"), a constant sense that something is wrong or something is off. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside and absolutely exhausted on the inside.

How I work

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you stop fighting your thoughts and start living by your values. When anxiety is tied to past experiences, I also offer EMDR, somatic therapy, parts work, and a few other approaches that come together to meet the mind where the body is, or the body where the mind is.

Who I work with

Adults in Northwest Arkansas and virtually across Arkansas dealing with anxiety, trauma, ADHD, burnout, attachment wounds, and religious trauma or deconstruction. I work with individuals only, not couples.

What to expect

Your first session is about getting comfortable. It's about getting used to a new space, getting the first-time jitters out, and talking through what our work together may look like. I often think of therapy as a red string theory: I'm connecting the dots as you narrate your life up to this point. It's about what is happening in the present, and I'm all about moving at your pace. I aim for you to leave your first session with a few practical tools to use. This is a collaborative process. You aren't alone; I am walking with you. Sessions are in person at my Bentonville office (808 S. Walton Blvd., Suite 2) or by secure video.
